드로잉룸(dR)은 시대성과 작가정신을 지향하는 현대미술과 디자인(공예)을 대중에게 친숙하게 전달하는 공간입니다. 국내외 신진작가와 함께 성장하고 중견작가들의 단단한 디딤돌이 되어 미술시장의 다양성을 추구합니다. Drawing의 draw는 동사로 (사람의 마음을) 끌다, 움직이다,이동하다 라는 의미로 작가의 언어를 전달하는 매개체가 되어 대중의 마음을 움직이는 공간, 다른 생각과 아이디어가 만들어지고 연결되어지는 시너지 있는 공간, 일상 속에서 예술을 끌어내는 공간이 되고자 합니다.
Taken from the reception space in domestic settings, the gallery is named “drawingRoom” with intention to 'draw' artists' talent and artistic encounters into our daily life. It also represents a threshold space where guests are recieved and entertained into the world of art. The gallery promotes modern and contemporary works of art and design with emphasis on daily use and craftsmanship.
